Inspired by the colorful woven blankets of Mexico, 2nd grade is starting off the year weaving!
Henri Matisse was a French painter that turned towards paper cutouts towards the end of his career. Second graders took this art form and created fall landscapes out of cutout paper.
Students had a great time making Gyotaku, the ancient art of Japanese fish printing. Each student got to print a fish and then fill the background with a watercolor ocean.
